Ducks

I started raising ducks about 10 years ago as a hobby. Over the years I have tried many different breeds and loved them all. I raise them on a mix of oats, peas, fish meal, and alfalfa meal with fertrell nutribalancer, and they also free range and eat grass and bugs. They are my pest control system and and excellent source of nutritious eggs. Duck eggs are better for baking and more nutritious than chicken eggs. They can also be less allergenic than chicken eggs. I typically have eggs available for sale. Eggs are $7/dozen or $4.25/half dozen.

Fall of 2023 I got an incubator, had my first hatch spring of 2024 and promptly upgraded to a better incubator. I hatched several batches in 2024, and will have Ancona ducklings available starting April 8,2025. Ducklings will be straight run day olds available for on farm pick up. $12-15 each depending on color. I also have hatching eggs available for $30/dozen.
